FG Nexus Abandons Ethereum Strategy Amid $45M Loss
FG Nexus has abandoned its Ethereum treasury strategy after less than a year, opting to redirect its focus toward real estate development instead. The Nasdaq-listed merchant bank disclosed in an Aug. 12 SEC filing that it sold all of its digital assets before June 30 and held no cryptocurrency at quarter-end.
The firm previously announced its Ethereum treasury strategy in July 2025 and launched the operation the following month, holding more than 50,000 ETH at its peak. However, as a broader market contraction impacted digital asset treasury companies, FG Nexus began divesting its holdings this year.
Despite earning just $144,000 of staking revenue during the first half, equivalent to roughly 0.3% of the $45.207 million loss from its discontinued digital-asset operations, the firm has pivoted toward real estate. In July, FG Nexus announced plans to establish an operating subsidiary focused primarily on land-lease manufactured-housing properties and is evaluating a potential combination with FG Communities as a route into income-producing affordable housing.
