Fidelity Bitcoin ETF Slumps Amid Market Volatility, BlackRock's IBIT Sees Surge
Institutional investors showed signs of caution in late July 2026 as the cryptocurrency market faced heightened volatility. The Fidelity Bitcoin ETF shed $43 million, while BlackRock's IBIT gained $90 million during this period.
The Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) registered a net outflow of $21.49 million on July 23, 2026, reducing its total assets under management to approximately $11.38 billion. This represented a minor reduction of about 0.19%. A few days later, the fund recorded another modest outflow totaling $2,823,659.
The trend of caution extended into the following days, with the Fidelity Bitcoin ETF posting a larger net outflow of $43.08 million on July 29, 2026. Meanwhile, the broader U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market logged $32.1 million in total net inflows, ending a four-day outflow streak.
Market observers suggest these repeated redemptions represent strategic portfolio adjustments rather than a wholesale exit from the digital asset space. The modest exit of capital matches a period of bearish technical signals and consolidation for Bitcoin.
