FIFA Launches $20B Commercial Venture Amid World Cup Boost
FIFA is planning to create a new $20 billion commercial entity and sell a minority stake in it. The move aims to maximize the organization's commercial potential following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as stated by President Gianni Infantino.
The current commercial cycle spanning 2023 to 2026 is projected to generate between $11 billion and $13 billion in total revenues.
FIFA has existing partnerships in the digital asset space, with Kraken serving as the official crypto exchange partner for the World Cup. However, the new entity appears to be a purely traditional finance play, without any crypto or blockchain component.
