Filecoin’s 13% Rally Faces Spot Market Skepticism
Filecoin (FIL) experienced a significant price surge over the past day, climbing approximately 13%. Despite this rally, data from CoinGlass revealed mixed signals in the market. The Spot Netflow showed that selling volume slightly exceeded buying volume, indicating that sellers remained active. Specifically, FIL recorded $31.61 million in inflow and $31.96 million in outflow, resulting in a negative net inflow of around −$356,810.
Perpetual market positioning offered a more bullish outlook. The overall Long/Short Ratio stood at 1.0475, suggesting a slight edge for buyers. Binance and OKX, two major exchanges, showed bullish readings across most participant categories. On Binance, retail traders and whale accounts leaned bullish, with a Whale Position ratio of 2.59. OKX also reported bullish retail positioning and extremely bullish Smart Money Sentiment, although whale readings were mixed.
Potential liquidation clusters around the $1.05 region posed a risk if the bullish momentum weakened. The Liquidation Heatmap highlighted these clusters, which could trigger long liquidations and add selling pressure. However, the probability of FIL reaching $1.05 remained uncertain. For now, perpetual positioning leaned bullish, but the negative Spot Netflow suggested caution. Stronger spot buying could reinforce the rally, while weakening demand might expose leveraged longs to risk.
