Fireblocks has joined the Agentic Payments Alliance (APA), a coalition of over 25 organizations working to build infrastructure for AI-powered commerce. The alliance, announced on August 18 by Rain, aims to enable autonomous AI agents to execute payments on behalf of humans.

The roster includes major players in the payments industry, such as Visa, Mastercard, Fiserv, Circle, and Solana, all of which are founding members. Fireblocks' participation is significant, given its experience with secure digital asset infrastructure and its Agentic Payments Suite, launched on May 20.

The market for agentic commerce could reach $3 to $5 trillion globally by 2030, according to McKinsey projections. The APA's focus areas include agent authorization protocols, fraud prevention frameworks, and regulatory advocacy.
