Hong Kong-based stablecoin issuer First Digital is preparing for its Nasdaq debut through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) merger with CSLM Digital Asset Acquisition Corp III. The listing aims to fund the expansion of Finance District, an ecosystem designed for the emerging agentic economy, where AI agents play a central role in commerce.
Vincent Chok, First Digital’s founder and CEO, described Finance District as providing the infrastructure needed as commerce becomes agentic. “We are at the beginning of that industry. A Nasdaq listing would give us access to public capital markets, the transparency of a listed company, and shareholders who can participate in building it with us,” Chok stated.
Four Finance District products are already live, including District Pass, a single identity credential, and Agent Wallet, a multi-chain wallet operated by AI agents. Prism allows merchants to accept digital asset payments, while an AI assistant helps users manage transactions across the platform. First Digital is also expanding the use of its stablecoin, FDUSD, for settlements within Finance District and across exchanges and DeFi platforms.
Meanwhile, PYMNTS reported that agentic commerce introduces a new type of transaction, raising questions about machine authorization rather than just transaction approval. Research found that 56% of respondents would allow AI agents to search and compare products, but only 35% would permit access to saved payment credentials.
