Flare Defends FXRP Security Amid Ripple Engineer's Bridge Concerns

Ripple engineer Neil Hartner raised concerns about the security of blockchain bridges after a recent hacking incident on Liquid Network, which saw hackers withdraw approximately 4,000 BTC (worth around $320 million at the time) from the Liquid Federation wallet.

Hartner said that given the history of bridge hacks, users should be 'hyper-vigilant' when using any bridge. He clarified that he was not suggesting Flare is careless about security, but rather warning against complacency.

In response to Hartner's comments, Flare Networks co-founder Hugo Philion defended the security of FXRP, saying it was built with security in mind and that most XRP used in FXRP is protected through XRPL Escrow, which has safely held large amounts of XRP for years.
