Flare Unleashes Six-Month Plan to Bring DeFi to XRP Ledger
Flare Networks is launching a six-month initiative to transform the XRP Ledger (XRPL) into a programmable decentralized financial hub through its XRPFi project.
The first wave of technological upgrades will roll out within two weeks, with the FAssets system at its core. This allows XRP holders to convert their coins into wrapped FXRP tokens on a one-to-one basis, enabling access to staking, liquidity pools, and lending markets for the first time.
More than 150 million FXRP tokens have already been issued, signaling strong demand from the XRP community. Flare's CEO Hugo Philion is projecting that up to 5 billion XRP could eventually migrate into the Flare ecosystem, representing a significant shift in liquidity dynamics across exchanges.
