Flare Upgrades XRPFi Infrastructure to Unlock New XRP Use Cases
Flare Network has made significant strides in expanding XRP's use cases beyond its original purpose. The company has built the FXRP, a wrapped over-collaterized digital asset that runs on Flare Network via the FAssets v1.2. This ERC-20 representation of XRP was launched exactly a year ago and has already reached multiple milestones.
The inaugural 5 million minting cap for FXRP was filled in just hours after its release, and it has since been used as a master key to various DeFi activities such as staking, lending, cross-chain liquidity providing, borrowing, and combining advanced trading strategies. Since launch, Kinetic introduced lending functionality, while SparkDEX, BlazeSwap, and Enosys provided liquidity markets.
Flare's CEO, Hugo Philion, emphasized that the success of FXRP is not just about XRP being used in more places, but rather about an asset issued on one chain becoming working capital without leaving it. He noted that the path to achieving this must be short enough for people to take action.
