Florida Judge Orders $30M Restitution in Crypto Scam
A federal judge in Florida has ordered two individuals to pay over $30 million in restitution and penalties for allegedly defrauding thousands of people in a cryptocurrency and precious metals scam.
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a lawsuit against Fundsz, its founder Rene Larralde, Brian Early, and Alisha Ann Kingrey in 2023.
Default judgments were entered against Early and Kingrey for allegedly participating in the scam that involved cryptocurrencies and precious metals.
