FNB partners with VALR to offer crypto investments to customers
FNB, one of South Africa’s leading banks, has entered the cryptocurrency market by partnering with VALR, a local crypto exchange. The collaboration enables FNB’s nearly nine million retail customers to buy and sell digital assets directly through the bank’s share trading platform, accessible via its mobile app.
The new Crypto Investing feature allows customers to purchase popular cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin (BTC), ethereum (ETH), ripple (XRP), solana (SOL), and the US dollar-pegged stablecoin USDT (Tether). The service is designed to make crypto investments more accessible, with a minimum investment threshold of just R10.
This move positions FNB as the latest South African bank to integrate cryptocurrency trading into its services, following similar steps by other financial institutions in the region. The partnership with VALR ensures that FNB customers can now easily manage their crypto investments alongside traditional financial products.
