FOMO App on Apple Store Infected with Crypto-Stealing Malware for a Week

Analysts have warned iPhone users to update their iOS after a crypto-stealing malware was discovered in malicious Safari browser links and an app called FOMO.

The malware, known as DarkSword, allows hackers to gain root access and make unauthorized changes, including the exfiltration of crypto keys and wallet data.

SlowMist's Chief Information Security Officer, Shān Zhang, advised iPhone users to update their iOS after discovering the vulnerability in versions 13 to 26.5.

FOMO, a popular crypto trading platform, has denied being hacked, but an official version of its app on the App Store contained malware for a week, between September 9 and 17.
