Crypto trading platform FOMO has denied allegations that an update to its iOS app caused $6 million in losses for users.

The claims were made by Derivatives_Ape, a social media account built around Solana trading commentary, who stated that a friend suffered the loss after opening the FOMO app and losing 662 SOL, worth about $62,000.

FOMO co-founder Prashan Dharmasena rejected the claim, stating that the account in question had no transaction signed by FOMO's fee payer. He repeated this defense to at least two other accusers, framing their claims as 'paid fud', a coordinated effort to spread false information for financial gain.

The authenticity of the original screenshot has been confirmed, but Dharmasena contests whether any bug in the FOMO app caused the movement of funds. He emphasizes that FOMO's self-custodial design makes it impossible for the platform to access or move user funds.
