Former CCB Asia Manager Sentenced to Four Years for Crypto Bribe

A former manager at China Construction Bank (Asia) Corporation Limited has been sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to repay approximately HK$3.7 million after accepting over US$470,000 in cryptocurrency bribes.

Lam Chun-yin, a 32-year-old customer relationship manager, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy for an agent to accept advantages, prosecuted by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).

The scheme involved international dimensions that undermined Hong Kong's reputation as a global financial hub and eroded investor confidence.

Lam was assigned to retail banking services for individual clients but had no authorization to handle commercial credit facilities or issue letters of credit.
