A former FBI agent has been accused of stealing nearly $1 million in cryptocurrency from accounts the agency was monitoring.

Patrick Yaroch, a former member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, allegedly stole the funds due to frustration with the government's inaction on cryptocurrency misuse.

Court documents show that Yaroch confessed to the crime when questioned by federal agents.

The FBI has fired Yaroch and authorities arrested him last week.
