Fortitude Invests $45M in Zcash Mining Infrastructure Expansion
Fortitude Mining has announced an investment of $45 million to build out its Zcash mining infrastructure. The funding will go towards purchasing mining hardware, as well as acquiring electricity contracts, land, buildings, and mining equipment. This investment brings Fortitude's controlled data center capacity over 60 megawatts as of 2026.
The company has also committed $31.5 million to buying mining machines and spent an additional $13.9 million on targeted acquisitions. Zcash accounted for 61% of Fortitude's mining revenue in the first quarter of 2026, while Bitcoin made up 36%. The investment marks a significant expansion of Fortitude Mining's operations.
The company is also working to complete a merger with HeartSciences Inc., which would give it publicly traded status if successful. This move would align with Digital Currency Group's (DCG) strategy for its subsidiaries, which includes advancing vertical integration and growth through strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
