Fortitude Mining Appoints Former Hut 8 CEO Jaime Leverton as New Leader
Fortitude Mining has appointed former Hut 8 CEO Jaime Leverton as its new chief executive. This comes ahead of the company's planned public listing through a merger with HeartSciences, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
Leverton will take over on September 21, replacing current CEO Andrea Childs who will become Chief Operating Officer. Fortitude has mined Zcash (ZEC) since 2019 and operates over 60 megawatts of power capacity across seven sites in South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, and New York.
The company recently agreed to purchase 9,000 Bitmain Antminer Z15 Pro machines, which will add 7.56 GSol/s of equihash hashrate once delivered in the fourth quarter. Fortitude is wholly owned by Digital Currency Group.
