Fortitude Mining, a Zcash-focused miner, has appointed former Hut 8 CEO Jaime Leverton as its new chief executive. Leverton will take over on September 21, succeeding current CEO Andrea Childs, who will move to the role of Chief Operating Officer. This change comes as Fortitude prepares for a public listing through a proposed merger with HeartSciences.

Fortitude has been mining ZEC since 2019 and operates more than 60 megawatts of power capacity across seven sites in four states. The company reported revenue of $20.9 million for the second quarter and mined 72,696 ZEC in the first half of 2026, accounting for about 28% of the network's total production.

Fortitude has also agreed to purchase 9,000 Bitmain Antminer Z15 Pro machines, which are expected to add 7.56 GSol/s of equihash hashrate. The company is wholly owned by Digital Currency Group and plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker TUDE after its merger with HeartSciences.
