Fortitude Mining has appointed former Hut 8 CEO Jaime Leverton as its new chief executive, effective September 21. She replaces Andrea Childs, who will become chief operating officer.

The leadership change comes as Fortitude prepares to go public through a proposed merger with HeartSciences, with the combined company expected to trade on Nasdaq under ticker TUDE in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Leverton brings experience navigating crypto miners through public-market transitions. She oversaw Hut 8's merger with US Bitcoin Corp. and its subsequent restructuring into a US-domiciled, Nasdaq-listed entity.
