Foundry USA Dominates Bitcoin Network Hasrate with 28% Control
Foundry USA has secured a significant lead in Bitcoin's network hashrate, controlling nearly 28% of it as of September 2026. This dominance comes after a 4.5 EH/s expansion and a joint venture with Saudi Aramco that totals 200 MW.
The total network hashrate stands at approximately 927 EH/s, making it extremely challenging for individual machines to find blocks. Consequently, most miners join large pools like Foundry USA, AntPool, or F2Pool to ensure a consistent income stream.
Miners contribute work by submitting 'shares,' which are solutions that clear a pool-set target. Different pools use various methods to distribute block rewards among their members.
The power demand of artificial intelligence is also driving the expansion of mining capacity, with Saudi Aramco investing heavily in AI and digital infrastructure.
