Fourth Wave of Coldcard Wallet Attacks Sees Over $7 Million in BTC Stolen
A suspected fourth wave of attacks on Coldcard-generated Bitcoin wallets may be underway, according to blockchain researcher Alex Thorn. In about two and a half hours, almost 449 BTC was swept from hundreds of addresses.
The ongoing exploit is linked to a weak-entropy vulnerability in certain Coldcard firmware versions.
This vulnerability creates a major crypto wallet security risk and raises concerns for Bitcoin adoption and custodial trust.
