Frankfurt Forks Out Big Bucks for Young Brazilian Defender
Euro football's transfer market has once again defied logic, as Eintracht Frankfurt splashed out €4.5 million for a 20-year-old Brazilian centre-back, Otávio Manoel Galdino Fernandes.
The young defender joins the German Bundesliga from Portuguese top-flight side CF Estrela Amadora, where he played for less than a year.
The transfer price is a whopping three times higher than his estimated market value of €1.5 million, making it one of the most expensive deals in recent memory.
This deal is particularly notable as it stands out from the trend of football clubs embracing blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies for their financial dealings.
