Franklin Templeton has expanded its presence in tokenized assets by partnering with Hong Kong-based crypto exchange HashKey. The asset manager launched its tokenized US government liquidity fund, Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Liquidity Fund (grBENJI), on the platform.

The fund primarily invests in US government money market instruments and US dollar cash assets through blockchain-enabled infrastructure.

Chetan Karkhanis, SVP of digital assets client engagement at Franklin Templeton, said that the firm intends to expand its partnership with HashKey beyond money market products into other tokenized offerings, leveraging HashKey's presence across Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai, and Bermuda.
