Fraternal Order of Police Backs Revised Clarity Act Bill Amid Delays
A revised Clarity Act bill has secured support from a major U.S. law enforcement organisation, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), but its passage remains delayed.
The FOP publicly backed the latest version of the Clarity bill on July 25 local time, citing that it reflects their earlier concerns while maintaining law enforcement authority to investigate cryptocurrency-related crime.
According to Paul Grewal, Chief Legal Officer at Coinbase, the Senate must choose whether to support the revised bill alongside the FOP or oppose it, urging legislative action and a public statement from the Senate on its position.
