From Bitcoin Miners to VC Powerhouse: Da Shan's Blockchain Odyssey
Da Shan's journey into the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency began in 2011 when he first encountered Bitcoin. At the time, he was studying abroad and saw potential for Bitcoin as a cross-border payment vehicle.
However, it wasn't until late 2012 and early 2013 that he truly started buying Bitcoin, with most of his initial holdings being purchased rather than mined.
In 2017, Da Shan resigned from HiSilicon (Huawei) to enter the industry full-time and founded Waterdrip Capital. Since then, he has invested in over 200 projects and managed multiple funds, including the Pacific Waterdrip Fund established with CPIC Asset Management.
Da Shan's experience with Bitcoin mining in 2013 laid the foundation for his later work in AI data centers, where he applied the computing power expertise he accumulated to optimize efficiency. Today, he continues to bet on the foundational productivity of the next generation of the digital world.
