Fundstrat Predicts Bitcoin Price Surge Amid Historic Volatility Lows
Bitcoin's recent calm trading range may be setting up for a significant price move. According to Fundstrat, the cryptocurrency's 30-day volatility is at historic lows, which has historically been followed by a 30% rise over the next two months.
Fundstrat's Head of Online Assets Strategy, Sean Farrell, noted that Bitcoin's 30-day volatility is among the smallest on record. He stated, 'The typical magnitude of historical moves is notable. Looking across prior observations, the median absolute move over the subsequent 60 days has been roughly 30%.'
Monday's price jump was driven by traders unwinding bearish positions, not a sustained uptrend, according to Farrell. The bond market could trigger Bitcoin to break out of its calm trading range, as rising long-term real yields are a risk to cryptocurrencies and other risk assets.
