Share

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 52,485, up 0.53%, marking its fourth consecutive winning month, despite a massive 1,100-point drop on Wednesday.

The Nasdaq ended July strong, closing at 25,373, up 1%, while the S&P 500 finished at 7,489, up 0.70%.

The Russell 2000 was the only index to close lower for the week, down 0.50%, but it remains the leading index year-to-date, with a 17.7% gain.

In other market news, Treasury bond yields reached their highest levels in years on Friday, driven by inflation worries and high energy prices.

The 30-year Treasury closed at 5.27%, its highest since July 2007, while the 10-year note finished at 4.72%, a level not seen since January 2025.

Cryptocurrency trading was also lower on Friday, pressured by falling asset prices and heavy liquidations, with Coinbase Global shares plummeting as much as 15% after reporting a Q2 net loss of $359.5 million.
