Senate Republicans have proposed the CLARITY Act, aimed at providing clarity in digital asset markets. However, Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego has criticized the ethics provisions included in the draft, calling them 'not a serious effort.'

The CLARITY Act would bar all US federal officials, including President Donald Trump, from issuing or sponsoring any digital assets. Democrats have expressed concerns that these provisions fall short of expectations.

Senator Gallego plans to work with Republicans on a counterproposal, stating 'We are still in this fight.' He believes the current draft does not reflect the months of work done with Republican colleagues.

Senator Bernie Moreno has defended the ethics language, describing it as 'the most powerful ethics language in US history.'
