GateToken Surges Amid Ongoing Re-Rating
GateToken (GT) experienced a 4.04% surge over the past 31 hours, but this price action is part of a broader multi-week re-rating process.
The recent increase in GT's value can be attributed to several factors, including its new Buyback Season 2 program and ongoing quarterly burns, which have reduced the supply of tokens by around 63% since its original release.
GateToken's buyback program is funded by approximately 99% of protocol fees, with 1% reserved for market making liquidity support. This mechanism has been in place since September 22nd and has contributed to GT's upward momentum.
The market's growing recognition of Gate as a major exchange player has also played a significant role in GT's re-rating. With over 60 million registered users, Gate now ranks among the top six centralized exchanges globally by asset size, boasting reserve ratios around 120-130% and competitive 'clean' assets figures.
GateToken's performance can be seen as a reflection of its position at the center of Gate's expanding ecosystem, which includes derivatives, real-world assets, tokenized stocks, gold, the Arc ecosystem, and broader TradFi, Web3, payment, AI, and on-chain products.
