Gemini Adds Stop Market Orders to ActiveTrader Platform
Gemini's ActiveTrader platform has expanded its capabilities with the addition of stop market orders. This feature allows users to set a stop price that, when crossed by the last traded price, automatically triggers a market order.
The key distinction from stop-limit orders is that stop market orders sacrifice price precision for execution certainty. A stop-limit order, on the other hand, triggers a limit order at a specified price, which might not fill if the market moves too quickly.
Gemini has included a 10% slippage tolerance in its stop market orders to prevent users from being filled at wildly unfavorable prices during sudden market movements. This feature applies across over 100 spot trading pairs on ActiveTrader, covering major assets like BTC, ETH, and SOL.
