Gemini Enables Direct XRP Transfers in Singapore

Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has given XRP users in Singapore a significant upgrade. The platform now allows direct XRP deposits and withdrawals through the XRP Ledger (XRPL), eliminating extra steps for users and giving them faster, cheaper access to their XRP.

The move was announced by Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss on August 24, who called it 'Big news for the Ripple Army in Asia.' Eligible users in Singapore can now move XRP directly between their Gemini accounts and external XRPL addresses, no longer needing to rely solely on transfers within the exchange.

This is particularly important for Singapore as the country is a major financial and crypto hub, with digital asset firms operating under the rules of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
