Gemini Prepares for Zcash NU7 Upgrade with New Node Software Zakura

Winklevoss twins' Gemini exchange is preparing for Zcash's upcoming NU7 upgrade by switching to a new node software called Zakura. The change aims to improve speed, reduce storage use, and enhance recovery times when a node restarts.

Zcash has drawn comparisons to Bitcoin in 2019 due to its growing market interest and price stability around $1,400. Gemini's head of marketing Olivia Santarelli likened the excitement around ZEC to how Bitcoin felt when she first entered the crypto market in 2019.

Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss agreed with the comparison, stating '100%.' The twins have previously invested $100 million in Zcash and believe privacy will become increasingly important as the industry develops alongside AI.
