Gen Z Crypto Traders Fuel India Market Volatility
India's cryptocurrency market is experiencing a surge in young investors, with Gen Z leading the charge. According to a report by CoinSwitch, 54.4% of new crypto investors who joined the platform in Q2 2026 were aged 25 or below.
This demographic is known for their active trading style, which sets them apart from older investors who often adopt a long-term approach. Gen Z traders are more likely to sell their holdings and experiment with market trends, rather than simply holding onto Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
The report also reveals that younger generations have shown a stronger selling interest than buying, indicating that they see crypto as a dynamic asset class. This active trading can lead to increased short-term volatility in the market.
