Gen Z Drives Crypto Market Growth in India
India's cryptocurrency market is experiencing a significant shift in demographics, with younger investors increasingly participating. According to a report by ZebPay, the 18-24 age group, or Gen Z, accounts for around 50% of new registrations on their platform during the first half of 2026.
The data suggests that crypto is gaining traction among younger investors, who are exploring digital assets as part of their investment choices. Gen Z users showed a clear preference for buying rather than selling, with their buy volumes nearly 10 times higher than their sell volumes during this period.
Solana emerged as the most preferred digital asset among Gen Z users. Meanwhile, investors from smaller cities are also playing a bigger role in India's crypto market, accounting for around 62% of new registrations on ZebPay during H1 2026.
