Gen Z Investors Favor Nvidia Over Tesla as First Stock Trade
A recent report from Binance Research has shed light on the investment habits of Gen Z users on the platform. The study found that 20% of the youngest equity users, who hold under $2,000 in assets, have invested in Nvidia (NVDA) as their first stock trade.
Micron Technology (MU) came in second at 8%, followed by Tesla (TSLA), Apple (AAPL), and the Nasdaq-100 ETF. The report noted that these users are more likely to allocate their equity holdings to Information Technology and Communication Services, with a significant portion concentrated in semiconductors.
The study also found that Gen Z users make up 44% of Binance Direct Stocks customers, with 95% of them located in emerging markets. In contrast to the prevailing assumption that young investors trade aggressively, the data suggests that Gen Z users exhibit a more disciplined approach, averaging only 2.6 trades per day compared to 3.0 for other cohorts.
Furthermore, the report highlighted that Gen Z has contributed approximately $80 billion in TradFi volume so far in 2026, compounding at nearly 24% per month. This growth demonstrates the significant impact of this demographic on the financial markets.
