Gen Z Investors Fuel ETF Surge, Drive Shift Towards Passive Products
Gen Z investors have been driving the growth of unleveraged ETF inflows in July, according to Binance Research. The cohort accounted for a significant 21.9% of net equity flows, up from 18.5% in June. This marks a notable shift towards holding ETFs and passive products among Gen Z investors.
The number of direct-equity accounts held by Gen Z investors showed that 77% were net accumulators, while 60% of TradFi-Perps accounts also accumulated. This suggests a move away from trading to holding assets, with crypto equities being a key beneficiary of this trend.
This pattern could have significant implications for capital flows across Bitcoin, equities and crypto markets in the months ahead. As Gen Z continues to grow its presence in the market, their investment habits and preferences will be increasingly important to track.
