Germany Surges Ahead with Crypto Licenses as UK Lags Behind

Share

Germany has seen a significant increase in authorized crypto providers under MiCA, with 89 now listed, representing 25.5% of the ESMA European registry. This is up from just 58 at the start of July, an increase of over 50%. Deutsche Bank is also preparing to launch its own digital asset custody service by the end of 2026.

According to data cited by CoinShares, the German count has risen to 89, making it a leader in Europe's crypto market. The MiCA registry requires authorized companies to declare their services and operations, providing transparency for investors.

Luke Nolan, a researcher at CoinShares, notes that this growth is not limited to exchanges but also includes family offices, wealth managers, and financial advisors, who are increasingly interested in digital assets.
