A global effort to combat online child sexual abuse has yielded over 14,000 investigative leads across 125 countries. Operation Lighthouse, coordinated by Chainalysis, examined more than 29,000 crypto addresses and generated these leads during a multi-day operation.
Crypto researchers, exchanges, and law enforcement agencies collaborated in this effort to examine networks linked to online child sexual abuse. Entities such as Binance, Block, and the Internet Watch Foundation issued statements regarding their participation in Operation Lighthouse.
The investigation produced leads that extended into 125 countries, with individuals considered suspects identified in each of these nations. Chainalysis data noted that some of these individuals had prior records for sexual offenses.
