GoBTC Pay Brings Bitcoin Payments to AI Agents at Agnic.AI Hackathon
GoBTC Pay has partnered with Agnic.AI to create a track for Bitcoin payments between AI agents at their hackathon, Agentic Commerce Pioneers Edition II. The track allows teams to build working prototypes on the GoBTC Pay protocol, which settles directly on the Bitcoin base layer and charges merchants a 0.2% fee. Roman Yermoshin, General Manager at GoBTC Pay, emphasized the importance of the topic: 'Before long, people will stop placing orders themselves. Their AI agents will take that routine over: the agents will choose the products and pay for the orders on our behalf.'
The hackathon took place from September 10 to 20, 2026, as a remote build sprint, with a hybrid Demo Day in Toronto, Canada, on September 21. GoBTC Pay's participation is significant because agent-driven commerce breaks an assumption built into card rails: that a person is standing at the checkout to approve the payment. It also creates a transaction type that barely exists today, one agent paying another for a service it has just performed.
