Gold Breakout Momentum Falters Amid Weakened Intraday Money Flow

Share

Gold prices have been holding steady near $4,390 as of August 11, but its breakout momentum is facing weakness in intraday money flow. Despite this, gold has recently seen a technical breakout on separate charts that corresponded with long-term reallocation in China's US Treasury allocation.

The precious metal displayed a recent technical breakout, which showed a strong break above a compressed triangle defined by downward-sloping support levels and rising trendlines. This pattern was identified by trader ProfessorCrypto on X, who shared a diagram of technical indicators showing the breakout above $4,100 before crossing the highlighted value of $4,202.90.

However, gold's price briefly reached within its higher resistance band at approximately $4,370-4,447.94 but was pulled back before the session's closure. A brief sell-off below $4,448 indicated significant resistance as the bulls struggled to push through this level.
