Goldman Sachs Expects Rate Hike Following Revised Forecast

Goldman Sachs has revised its forecast on interest rates, now expecting the Federal Reserve to raise them by 25 basis points following the September 15-16 FOMC meeting.

This is a change from their initial prediction of no rate hike. The bank cited strengthened August data as the reason for this shift in expectations.

The expected rate hike would lift the target range from 3.50%-3.75% to 3.75%-4%. This could put pressure on Bitcoin and other risk assets, as higher rates generally lead to a stronger dollar and tighter liquidity conditions.
