GPT-6 Astra Blows Away Expectations with Dazzling Capabilities
OpenAI's latest model, GPT-6 Astra, has been released to the public and its capabilities are being put to the test. According to early testers with access to the model, it is 'shockingly good' at almost everything.
The model costs $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, which is 2.5 times the rate of its predecessor GPT-5.6 Sol. OpenAI president Greg Brockman announced the arrival of AGI during the launch briefing.
GPT-6 Astra has shown impressive results in various areas such as visual understanding and spatial awareness. It was able to generate a replica of Manhattan in Unreal Engine, built a browser-based 3D Hangzhou in 24 minutes, and created a multiplayer shooter in just one day.
The model also demonstrated its ability to create music, with Auggie reporting that it produced the best score ever recorded on an informal benchmark - writing a four-part chorale in the style of Bach without any voice-leading errors.
