Grayscale Avalanche ETF Adds Anchorage Digital for AVAX Custody
Grayscale’s Avalanche Staking ETF has expanded its custody arrangements by adding Anchorage Digital as a secondary custodian. The Sixth Amendment to the Master Custody Service Agreement, signed on September 29, 2026, allows Anchorage to hold a portion of the ETF’s AVAX holdings. Coinbase remains the primary custodian, with Grayscale retaining discretion over asset allocation between the two providers.
The move is part of a broader risk management strategy as the Trust’s assets scale. Anchorage offers U.S.-based HSM key storage and insurance coverage, providing an additional layer of security. This diversification strengthens the ETF’s custody infrastructure, ensuring institutional-grade protection for investors.
The agreement is effective immediately and can be terminated at will. The original filing was made with the SEC on October 5, 2026, as part of Grayscale Avalanche Staking ETF’s regulatory updates.
