Grayscale CEO Sells Shares as GXRP Faces Decline

Grayscale's CEO, Peter Mintzberg, has filed documents to sell part of his shares in the Grayscale XRP Trust ETF (GXRP). The sale involves 2,611 units with an estimated value of $53,400, which translates to a price of approximately $20.45 per unit.

This move comes as GXRP experiences a decline in the number of units in circulation. According to regulatory documents, the fund had around 5.79 million issued units in January, but this number has decreased. A reduction in units is often associated with redemptions made by investors, which may require the sale of underlying assets, such as XRP.

The U.S. spot XRP ETF market is growing dynamically, with a total net asset value exceeding $971 million. GXRP currently controls about 6% of this market, indicating that Grayscale remains a significant player in the segment but is giving way to new products.
