Grayscale Gives XRP Major Allocations, Leaves Out Bitcoin in 'Next Gen' Portfolio
Grayscale has launched four new crypto investment portfolios designed for financial advisors and their clients. The Digital Assets Core Plus portfolio is meant to be a broad foundation of crypto allocation, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Chainlink (LINK).
The 'Digital Assets Leaders' focuses on the five largest eligible crypto assets through Grayscale's single-asset products. On the other hand, the 'Digital Assets Next Gen' portfolio is designed to give investors exposure to emerging projects beyond Bitcoin.
Interestingly, Ripple's XRP has received a significant allocation in the Digital Assets Next Gen portfolio, making up 26.11% of its holdings as of August 31st. Ethereum accounted for 42.34%, while Solana had 21.09%. Bitcoin was notably left out of this portfolio.
Meanwhile, Grayscale's portfolios are subject to quarterly rebalancing, allowing them to adjust allocations based on market capitalization and eligible asset universe changes. This comes after Grayscale filed an amendment that could move its Litecoin Trust closer to an ETF structure.
