Grayscale Launches 3-for-1 Forward Share Split for Zcash ETF
Grayscale's Zcash ETF (ZCSH) has announced a forward share split of 3-for-1, effective after market close on September 28. Shareholders will receive two additional shares for every one they currently hold, effectively reducing the per-share price while increasing the total number of outstanding shares.
The decision comes as Zcash's token price has surged by about 2,800% over the past year, pushing its unit price to a level Grayscale deems 'too high' for accessibility. According to the ETF filing, the forward split aims to make the fund more convenient for potential investors.
The practical effect of this change will be largely operational, with shares trading at lower nominal prices. However, the split does not inherently alter the ETF's exposure to its underlying asset, Zcash.
