Grayscale Launches Zcash ETF, Returns Fee Revenue to Zcash Ecosystem
Grayscale has launched the Zcash ETF 'ZCSH', the first exchange-traded fund to invest directly in the privacy-focused cryptocurrency. The product was converted from the existing Grayscale Zcash Trust, which had assets under management exceeding $313.5 million as of the day before the listing.
Ahead of the launch, Zcash surged 45% over several days, according to pricing data. Grayscale said it would return the 2.5% management fee revenue to the network to support development of the Zcash ecosystem.
Steve Vannoy, head of indexes at Grayscale, stated that demand for true financial privacy will increase as artificial intelligence reshapes the way financial activity is monitored. He believes Zcash will play an important long-term role and said Grayscale was proud to improve access through the familiar ETF structure.
