Grayscale Sees Future Despite CLARITY Act Setback in US Senate
The CLARITY Act stalled in the U.S. Senate due to lack of votes, but Grayscale remains optimistic about the future of cryptocurrency regulation in the country.
In a procedural vote on September 15, the bill failed to secure the required 60 votes, with 49 votes in favor and 50 against. This setback has left the crypto industry disappointed, but Grayscale is looking beyond legislative efforts.
The company emphasized that regulatory progress continues through the work of agencies like the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). In March, these agencies released a joint interpretation on how federal securities laws apply to certain crypto assets and transactions.
Grayscale stressed its commitment to cooperation with policymakers and regulators to create clearer and more comprehensive rules for digital assets. Despite the delayed legislation, the company expects U.S. cryptocurrency policy to keep maturing.
