Grayscale Sets Stage for Zcash ETF Share Split as Token Price Surges
Grayscale's Zcash ETF (ZCSH) is undergoing a 3-for-1 forward share split, effective after the market close on September 28. Shareholders will receive two additional shares for every one they hold, effectively reducing the price per share and increasing the total number of shares outstanding.
The move aims to make the ETF more accessible to investors, as Grayscale noted that Zcash's token price had become 'too high' due to its 2,800% surge over the past year. The lower per-share price is expected to improve investor convenience and ease trading.
Grayscale expects the share split to have a proportionate effect on the ETF's value, leaving it unchanged in theory. However, traders should monitor how liquidity and bid-ask spreads behave around the split window.
