Grayscale Splits Zcash ETF After Just 36 Days
Grayscale has performed a 3-for-1 split of its Zcash ETF, ZCSH, just 36 days after it began trading on NYSE Arca. This adjustment reduces the value represented by each share from roughly $300 to approximately $100.
The split is economically neutral and does not create additional ZEC. Instead, it resizes the trading unit of a product that reached a high nominal share price remarkably quickly.
ZCSH started trading on August 25th after Grayscale transformed its existing Zcash investment vehicle into an exchange-traded product. The fund's value increased rapidly as Zcash entered the mid-$600 range and subsequently pushed substantially higher during September.
Now that the split has been implemented, it is essential to observe the next round of fund data. This will help separate the accounting effect of the split from actual investor demand.
